UK Recruitment Agencies

You might want to know what feng shui has to do with the placement of staff and UK Recruitment Agencies. Not much at face value, but if we really consider it, staff-placement calls upon several age-old customs and rituals. Some good and some bad.

For example, take feng shui. The age-old art of the creation of an environment resulting in tranquillity, harmony, prosperity of any other state of being needed.

In staff-placement (UK Recruitment Agencies), we design the physical lay-out of the room we interview in and pay close notice to detail, such as the interviewee's seat. Many people pay little notice to such detail, but others go to large measures to make sure that everything is perfect. What are the major turn offs in the staff-placement process?

Herewith follows our companies selection for the Top Ten staff-placement turn offs.

Employer: Not being on time for the interview - this will get you nowhere! Such tardiness is unacceptable and will more than likely result in being turned down for the job, unless there is an excellent reason why you are late.

Being late sends a glaring message to the person conducting the interview that you are either not interested, unorganised or that you have no respect for their time. Job suicide indeed!

If you're presentation is poor: You are being closely scrutinised the second you enter the premises. Inappropriate or poor presentation is not acceptable. Rather over dress or over impress if in doubt.

Enthusiasm / interest lack: Most employers will choose interviewee's that are enthusiastic and outgoing. To increase your chances of success, be more extraverted. For example, feng shui, it is natural that employers would rather employ happy, positive and outgoing people. An extroverted attitude is regularly linked to qualities such as action orientation, interest and agreeableness - all these being positive qualities for any team based role.

Being un-prepared for the interview - Lack of knowledge about the position or the company strongly suggests a lack on interest in the position itself. Candidates that are serious take the initiative to learn about the company and the position and prepare questions proving that they are interested and that they understand.

Over or under talking: Candidates who are over-zealous to answer questions or talk too much in general, lack self awareness in most cases and this impacts upon others, especially the person conducting the interview. Be careful not to threaten your chances by holding the interviewer to ransom.

For the candidate: Allowing the candidate to wait too long: An interview is a 2-way process. Always keep in mind that the candidate is judging you and your company just as you are judging them for their suitability for the job in mind. If you know you are going to run late, have the courteousy to inform the candidate.
